This is one of Duke Kahanamoku’s signature pieces from the early 1950s.
The pattern depicts flames rising from the cracks of flowing lava.

Ernest Borgnine, who played the cruel sergeant in the movie From Here to Eternity, wore this shirt during a party scene.

Since this film features many aloha shirts that are now considered masterpieces, why not check it out?
